Hand-carved solid sterling silver Greek Owl Necklace, created to be a reminder to follow your curiosity and keep exploring.

The design of this owl is inspired by the miniature bronze owl sculptures found all over Greece. It includes a hand-engraving of the initials "AOE" on its base, which is short for "Of The Athenians" in ancient Greek.

In Greek mythology the owl is the Goddess Athena's companion and is an ancient symbol of the Greek Capitol of Athens, representing knowledge and wisdom.

How your Curiosity Greek Owl Necklace was made

This piece has been made using the ancient art of Lost Wax Casting.

The original master is carved by Cassie from a block of jewellers wax.

Once complete it was sent to a casting house located in Birmingham's famous jewellery quarter. A plaster mould was made and the wax is burned away, leaving a negative impression of the piece in the plaster.

Molten recycled sterling silver was poured into the cavity to create a raw casting that was then cleaned up and polished ready for its forever home.

How To Care for Your Piece

To keep your piece shiny and tarnish free please:

  • Don't wear your jewellery whilst showering, bathing or swimming.
  • Avoid direct contact with creams and perfumes.
  • Remove before sleeping and store in a dry place.
  • Use a soft, microfibre cloth to clean the jewellery.
